Muslims all over the world celebrate ‘Eid ul Fitr on the first day of Shawwal —  after a  month long fasting month of Ramadan  which culminates into the festival of ‘Eid-ul-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking). It is a festival of joy, family reunion and thanksgiving to Almighty God. The giving of a special charity for this occasion is obligatory. This is known as Zakat. Muslims dress in holiday attire, attend a special community prayer in the morning, and visit friends and relatives. Greetings of “‘Eid mubarak,” or “Selamat Hari Raya in Malay” are exchanged.

: Allahu-Akbar, Allahu-Akbar. La ila-ha ill-lal-lah. Allahu-Akbar, Allahu-Akbar. Wa-lilahill hamd.

  Bismillahirahmanirahim  Millions of Muslims in Malaysia and many more across the world welcome the month of Ramadhan. A typical day in Ramadhan starts very early, before the dawn  with  the  Sahuur or the morning meal. The whole day is spent without eating or drinking anything. With a prayer of gratitude to Allah s.w.t., a Muslim breaks his fast at sunset with the  iftar  or the evening meal. Following the practice of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w., dates have traditionally been a part of  iftar  meals. From sunrise till sunset,   a Muslim who fasts is required to abstain from all evil deeds as seemingly small as they may be. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. is reported to have said, "If a person does not avoid false talk and false conduct during fasting, then Allah does not care if he abstains from food and drink." OneStudio team of photographers managed to catch an early morning phenomena, which shows the greatness and blessings of Allah s.w.t. for those who remember Him.  Last Saturday(19th May 2012) Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia(YADIM), Mesjid Wilayah and NGOs organised the ISTIGHASAH program with Solat Tahajjud in the early hours being followed  by talks and Zikir at the Mesjid Wilayah open air area.
